are happy for there to be a 'swapmeet' component to the Show & Shine on saturday.
There will be some covered shelters available at no charge, for anyone interested; bring your own table.
First in first served on the day

All going swimmingly until rock ripped the sidewall of my rear tyre near Federal,
so we did a road-side fix & limped home from Cooran on the Medio Fondo course.
You guys are gonna love the new route!

I'm on 27x1-1/4" (because that's the right size ) but I would say go at least 700x25. There's nothing to stop you using 23s but the larger the tyre you can fit the more comfortable you will be, less likely to get pinch flats and it will be more stable on some of the loose gravel. If your frame will clear it go 28mm or bigger.Wakatuki wrote:Looks a great ride, have some similar roads around here, what tyre sizes are you using?
I'm having a crack at the long course tomorrow morning, fingers crossed the weather plays nice.

At least there is plenty of clearance between the tyres and the mudguards now if I get any pebbles stuck to the tread

Ok so pics!
The strade bianche is in great shape at the moment, there are a few rough bits here and there but nothing much. The descent of Shadbolt Rd in particular is MUCH better than last year (the first corner scared the bejeesus out of me that time ), the only spot that needs worrying about is the descent from Black Mountain to Federal, there's a fair bit of loose gravel and it is STEEP, take it steady and you should be right but we definitely don't want to see any heroics down there.
The new course is at least as hard as the original, if not harder, but it makes up for that by returning to Noosa past Cooroy Mountain rather than the dead coarse chip through Cootharabah into a headwind (it's always a headwind on that road!) Should be a ripper weekend, can't wait!

I think the 27" wheels and the Tour of Britan's geometry would be perfect for the dirt.

Bummer as it rules out a lot of my mates who have amazing bikes from the early 90's like eddy Merckx team ridden Motorolas with 7400 and other amazing c record equipped bikes or even those with modern groups on classic steel bikes.
Out of 8 of my bikes I only have one that qualifies and there no way I'm riding a 1914 bike 130km hahaha
Have fun this weekend though guys
