Press Release: MRP has shown off their latest chain guard, the G2 Carbon at Sea Otter. The G2 carbon features increased compatibility and adjustability with a new upper arm design.
The G2 has a 3 point attachment boomerang made out of CNC alloy with carbon relief’s providing more rigidity or protection of the chain and chain ring without sacrificing chain retention. The skid sits 22m inboard the chain ring and still features MRP’s bash guard.
The new guard only weighs in at 197 grams and the 32-36T will only weigh 170 grams. The integrated guard fully protects the chain and also the rear pulley wheel.
“By allowing independent adjustment of the upper and lower guides, the ‘Super-G’ lets the rider easily dial in the optimum position for each individual bike. This is extremely helpful on some bikes where you might have a pivot or dropped chainstay in the way,” said Ryan Cranston, MRP product manager.
