Armstrong and Basso apologise for Giro protest

Lance Armstrong and Ivan Basso have apologized for the protest that occurred during Sunday’s Stage 9 of the Giro d’Italia.

The 9th Stage was a 163 km circuit that included 9 laps around narrow, crowded city streets. At the start of Stage 9, the riders protested the route was unsafe, fueled by the previous day’s disastrous accident, when Spanish rider Pedro Horrillo Munoz fell 60 meters into a ravine.

Lance has been considered as one of the main organisers of the protest.
