The new Ritchey wheelsets include the WCS Hubs and new carbon and vanadium alloy rims. Direct from Ritchey, lets hear what the new wheels have to offer:
WCS Apex 38mm Carbon
front 600g / rear 852 g
These 100% hand-built and race-proven road wheels feature carbon 38mm aero rims with a unique blend of unidirectional (UD) hi-modulus carbon fiber. The rims are laced to new designed forged WCS sealed bearing hubs with Sapim CX Ray Aero stainless steel spokes. The rear hub drive-side spokes are laced using in “Trifecta” pattern, a reinforced “crows foot” pattern where a 2x lacing design is supported with radial spoke (the non-drive side spokes use standard 2x pattern). The additional reinforcement counteracts pedaling stresses providing positive power transfer while maintaining a weight saving low spoke count.
In addition, the rear hub uses a forged six-pawl micro clutch free hub body for instant engagement (Shimano/Sram 9/10 speed and Campagnolo compatible). Machined cams, redesigned forged levers and titanium rods combine to make the new WCS quick releases. 20H 1x lacing (front); 24H 2x lacing (rear).
WCS Alloy Zeta

This high strength, hand-built road wheel set uses Vanadium alloy OCR (Off Center Rim) trapezoidal clincher rims for the rear wheel, which provides improved load transfer between the rim, spokes and hub. This allows cyclist to corner a little harder, sprint a little faster and descend a little more aggressively. New WCS 20-hole front hub, new 24-hole rear hub with “Trifecta” pattern, Sapim CX Ray Aero spokes, and new WCS quick releases. 20H 1x lacing (front); 24H 2x lacing (rear).
PRO Carbon Apex Clinchers

This road wheel set starts with 3K carbon weave aerodynamic clincher rims with alloy braking surfaces. The rims are hand laced to Ritchey PRO Road cold forged, sealed bearing hubs with Sapim Race double butted (14/17/14 gauge) stainless steel spokes and standard brass nipples for lightweight strength and serviceability. Rear hub is available for Shimano/Sram 9/10 speed. Great high performance wheel set for training and/or racing. 20H 1x lacing (front); 24H 2x lacing (rear).
