Tadej Valjavec Giro Diaries – Stage 1

Today, I was very well. I was a little bit surprised to be in a very good physical condition. It was really better than during my last team time-trial in “Tour de Romandie where I was very tired.

Today, I was the strongestrider of the team even if stage’s profile wasn’t mine. Unfortunately, our team doesn’t succeed in this stage despite of my good feelings. At present I’m well. I hope it will be same on next stages and that I will be better and better.

My objective on this Giro is to be on the 10 first riders on overall but I will see how the race will happen. If I’m not in a good position to have a good classification on overall, perhaps I will decide to aim some stages. For the team, it’s better to be on 5 first riders on a stage than to be 25th on overall. Team has to obtain some UCI points for World Team classification and it’s the most important. But I will do my best to succeed in stages and on overall in the same time!
