Tadej Valjavec Giro Diaries – Stage 5

"Last night, I badly slept and this morning I wasn’t so good.  From the beginning of the day, I felt that it wouldn’t be MY day!  This stage was really atypical for Giro. It was a short stage, with a first climb right from the first kilometers, a long way down, and a difficult ascent before finish line. Moreover, weather was very hot and it returned more difficult for me."

"Considering all this, I’m really happy to be 16th of the stage. When I saw that Garzelli, Cunego and others  lost  a lot of time on favorites, I thought I can be really satisfied of my result even if my feelings weren’t good. I hope tomorrow it will be better for me and next mountain stages will be better. This evening, I’m going to recover and to try to relax. I need it."
