Veteran Italian rider Michele Scarponi (Diquigiovanni)lasted for more than 200 kilometers in the day’s breakaway to claim the sixth stage of the Centenary Giro d’Italia, over 248 kilometers from Italy’s Bressanone to the Austrian little village of Mayrhofen im Zillertal.
FUJI-SERVETTO had three riders in the main field: Ricardo Serrano, Iker Camano and team leader Frederik Kessiakoff, who has climbed into the 23rd place in the General Classification, led for the second consecutive day by Danilo di Luca (LPR).
