Minutes ago Vande Velde of Team Garmin-Slipstream crashed. While footage has not yet cleary shown what exactly happened, some other riders were forced into a ditch on the side of the road. All riders were able to continue withough serious delay except Vande Velde who remained lying on the road as the Pelotop passed. A team mate stopped to check and soon after the support cars started passing a doctor attended to him.
Now he is in an ambulance on the way to hospital and other teams are already passing on their well wishes.
