The Italian National road race Championships begin in Imola near Bologna on Saturday and will award the coveted ‘tricolore’ champions jersey.
The time trial course covers a distance of 32.4km and is almost totally flat, with a 5km finishing circuit inside the Imola motor racing track covered twice.
Barloworld bets on Caccia
Caccia is a strong and powerful rider, and suited to the time trial. He has recently completed the Giro d’Italia, meaning he has a good form and so could get a result. Caccia will be assisted by Team Barloworld directeur sportif Valerio Tebaldi.
Lampre NGC banks on Bruseghin
On Saturday the 20th of June, Marzio Bruseghin will take part in Italian time trial championship, race that on 2006 gave to Bruseghin the national championship and the first career victory.
The 32 km of length track with start in Mordano and finish line in Imola is flat in the first 22 km, then the riders will enter in the autodrome where the street is mixed: Bruseghin will try to use his experience and his skill in managing the energies.
"The race is not so simple to face, because the two laps in the autodrome will influence the performances – sport director Piovani said – Bruseghin is in a good fit and he’ll try to realize a positive performance. For Marzio this will be also a good test in view of Tour de France".
