Lampre-NGC’s Tour of Slovenia

Danish Jakob Fuglsang won the first stage of the Tour of Slovenia, Koren-Villach of 229km with 2 challenging climbs for 15km and 5km.

The best of Lampre-NGC’s runners was Santambrogio that came 9th at 4 ’30 "to the finish line by adjusting a bunch of athletes behind the first 8 riders.

Together with Santambrogio in a small group to report the presence of Manuele Mori 17th, which despite being recruited at the last minute to replace the injured Lorenzetto was ready to find a good condition.

Mirco Lorenzetto didn’t start today in the 1st stage because of a knee injury. On Tuesday the Italian cyclist felt a pain at the left knee: a magnetic resonance indicated a broken meniscus.

"The cause of the injuyr should be the crash in Tour of Flandres – Lorenzetto explained – The meniscus was not broken but probably it was damaged and then on Tuesday it broke".

Director of Sport, Bontempi: "I am pleased with the test of Santambrogio and Mori that despite a path suited to their characteristics, they are well behaved while remaining engaged in the important riders faced tough climbs today. I expected more from Spilak that is running in the street of house but unfortunately he is not supported by a great condition."
