Valverde Tops UCI Rankings

Thanks to his victory in the Criterium of the Dauphin? Lib?r?, Alejandro Valverde, who was in fifth position before the start of the French race, leads now, with 295 points, the World Ranking the UCI released this afternoon.

"This classification is very important", told Alejandro. "All the most important races in the world give points, which makes its value really big. To become the leader of that ranking means a lot to me and I believe it should mean the same to some other people. It will be difficult to remain first overall because the season is still very long but I hope I will be able to defend my first place and I will do my best to win this classification."

Australia is represented in position four and five with Cadel Evans and Allan Davis.
