Cerv?lo TestTeam: Gerrans moves up in the GC

The individual time trial stage took place today along a 15 km route from Ribera del Duero to Roa in the 4th stage of the Vuelta a Burgos.

Tom Danielson ( Garmin – Slipstream) won the stage and with it became the overall leader. Teammate Danny Pate ( Garmin – Slipstream) finished second 10 seconds behind and Alexei Markov (Team Katusha) captured third. Danielson leads the race overall by four seconds on Pate and five seconds on Alejandro Valverde (Caisse d’Epargne). Best result for a Cerv?lo rider today was Simon Gerrans in 8th position.

"Simon had a very good time trial today, finishing eighth," said Alex Sans Vega, Sports Director. "This was a good sign for him and indicates that he is in top form for the upcoming Vuelta and the World Championships which are his next priorities this season. Inigo Cuesta and Jose Angel G?mez Marchante tried to lose as little time as possible in the race and also save some energy for tomorrow’s final stage, the king stage of this year’s Vuelta Burgos. Our goal for tomorrow – be active, have a good result and end up with two riders in the top ten of the GC."

The five-day race ends tomorrow with a 155-kilometre mountaintop finish at Lagunas de Neila.
