Portuguese rider Sergio Paulinho, has said to have accepted a two-year contract with the Radio Shack team, leaving Contador without one of his best supporters. Many had expected that Paulinho would stay with Contador, as he rode in support of him during the 2007 and 2009 Tour victories.
Radio Shack also announced that former pro Jos? Azevedo will join the team as DS.
Azevedo raced for several Portuguese teams before joining ONCE in 2001, where he rode to fifth in the 2001 Giro d’Italia and sixth in the 2002 Tour de France. He then joined Discovery Channel in 2004 and rode for two years in support of Armstrong during the final two of his seven consecutive Tour wins.
George Hincapie returns to support Lance Armstrong. George Hincapie will ride for Radio Shack Cycling next year. At age 36, he has to be thinking about retirement, but maybe the lure of helping Lance to another Tour victory was attractive.
Armstrong has also Tweeted about Levi going to Radioshack, "@LeviLeipheimer Leadville 2010, bro. What’s the wager?? A month of your @teamradioshack salary to Livestrong?12:56 PM Aug 14th from web in reply to LeviLeipheimer"
