Trek Bicycle Configurator – Project One

While the 2010 Trek Madone 6.9 has already been unveiled, new is the the bicycle configurator called “Prokect One” that lets you build your Trek Madone online.

Trek have now let it be known that the Madone series of bikes will be a changed animal from now on. They have expanded on their successful 4 series carbon road bikes now featuring a ‘Madone 4.9’ bike featuring a complete 7900 Dura-Ace group set. Along with the expansion of the 4 series the 5 and 6 will now be offered in custom order Project One where you are able to choose everything from your paint scheme or group set to the colour of the handlebar tape.

Similar to the classic online car configurator, Project One gives you the option for the Madone Series 5 and 6 to choose frame colour, add your signature (name), choose from a range of Shimano and SRAM groupsets plus select tyres, stem, handlebar, handle bars, saddle and headset.

To have a play and design your own bike check out the Project One Micro site. Upon completion you can print out or email the specs. For the Australian market, Project One isn’t available so the “Direct Order” function is probably not possible – none the less if you are considering a Trek Madone, it is a nice tool to get acquainted with the 2010 lineup.

Trek bicycles are distributed in Australia by Trek Bikes Australia.
