The Coffs Coast Cycle Challenge has established itself as a well organised and enjoyable cycling event on the north coast of New South Wales. Promoting the scenic ocean and rainforest riding, the event is now in its fifth year and regularly attracting riders from Victoria, Queensland and of course from across New South Wales.
This year the ride is on Sunday August 3 and is the main event with other cycling festivities taking place in and around Coffs Harbour. Participants can choose from the 100km or 60km rides (with male, female and team categories) or two short distance family fun-rides.
A new event for the year open to 60km and 100km riders is the C4 Hill Climb which takes place on the Saturday and the Individual Time Trial format will see riders tackle a 13km route with 600 meters elevation. Taking riders up the windy Eastern Dorrigo Way, this is will be a true test of climbing ability.
As a bonus, there is a lucky draw event with the chance for all 60km and 100km entrants to win a Specialized Roubaix SL4 (value $3,750). The cycle event event is run by the Rotary Club of Coffs Harbour City and all proceeds from the event are used for community projects.
