Local Legend John Degenkolb powers Eschborn-Frankfurt race

DEGE has a big local fanbase around Frankfurt, Germany and the surrounding Taunus hills that is home to host prosperous towns. The 35 year old dsm-firmenich PostNL rider John Degenkolb counts a 2015 Paris-Roubaix victory and stage wins at each of the three grand tours and showed why is is a drawcard with an early breakaway to take points on the Feldberg and Mammolshain KOMs in the 2024 edition of the Eschborn-Frankfurt race.

The victory however was secured by Lotto Dstny rider Maxim van Gils who was in a lead bunch as the peloton split and left riders trailing towards Frankfurt city. Alex Aranburu of Movistar was second ahead of Riley Sheehan of Israel – Premier Tech.
