If your framebuilder wants detailed measurements, then if you print off the side on view, mark what is needed and PM me the sheet.
Where are you located? There may be some suggestions from members as to who could be approached.

I will be interested to see what you do with it
I documented the one for the wife at
Malvern Star - Ladies - Streamlined, Glamorous and Exciting
just check at the lower section of the seat tube that it is straight.
Clarence St Cycles had one done about 3 years ago, and it needed reinforcing with a sleeve in that area.
Look out for a suitable chainguard.

Assume a paint strip will ensue. Not sure what colour the frame should have.
Will clean up the hubs, rims and any other rust there is.
Early days. Appreciate any advice. Would like to make this as original as possible.

the adverts in late 1954 use this name for the last iteration of this design
It might be worth doing a search as to what colours were used on other MS styles in the period.
The Streamliner didn't have the distinctive colours of the Coronation or the Elizabethan.
And check the fork steerer for evidence of the original colour.
and I think I know where there is a colourful skirt net.

When you strip the frame please remove the paint around the joints by gradually abrading though the paint with fine sandpaper, and photograph the layers. The idea is to establish what was original and what may have been reworked.
I think as this was the end on the model they probably adapted other lugs for this bike.
I am keen to see what paint is on the steerer tube.

At this juncture I am inclined to make this '55 frames colour scheme as period correct as possible. Am thinking along the lines of a red, white and blue combination. You mentioned earlier that the purple and gold was done in 1954, and the red/white/blue for '55.

The Clarence Street Cycles one (pictured above) would be a safe and tasteful version.
You could still do the flamboyant paint style if you wanted to throw large sums at it.

Philip: Just to clear things up. This design was first released in 1948 as the New Look, It was then marketed as the Streamlyne, the Coronation had its own colour scheme, (to mark Queen Elizabeth's Coronation), then the Elizabethan colour scheme to commemorate Queen Elizabeth's tour of Australia, then this one marketed as a Streamliner.
There have been a few oddities, Mario Romeo had one (made in Perth in 1948) which had the twin top tubes inverted and linked to the larger curved down tube. (see photo)
It will be informative to see on Marc's bike the bare metal on the seat tube and the head tube once the paint has been removed. It should allow an understanding of any reworking of those areas.
Given that sales of this model were waning, there are not many 1955 models known to allow for comparisons. Malvern Star had lost interest in advertising them in 1955.

By early 1954, the marketing was on the Royal Visit, so the Elizabethan was conceived with its red, white and blue frame colour.

Warren Meade: I looked up my records, earliest serial number I have seen for one of these is a prefix 6M, for 1946, another 7P, 1947, quite a few from then on, and two at 56M. I tidied up and finished off the restoration of '56M 7126' for the Canberra Bicycle Museum many years ago. This bike had been very nicely repainted in the coronation colours of purple and gold, even though it was a 1956 model frame. I believe it had been repainted and lined etc by Bates in Melbourne, possibly in the 1970's. I would love to know where this bike ended up!
Philip: Warren Meade, I am curious about the 1946 and 1947 serial numbers. The advertising in August 1948 was that it was a new model. The full page colour advertisements in the Womens Weekly don't sit well with a two year old model.

Warren Meade: I am curious as well, but the bikes exist. As discussed at length in other forums, there are a few mysteries with this model, including the 'gents' version that Opperman is pictured on. I assembled the museum bike, 56M, from NOS parts available in 1956, but I had nothing at all to go on at that stage (2002?) as to what the bike actually looked like off the showroom floor. That bike has pressed end front forks, which is unusual. Who has it now?

Warren Meade: Howard, have you got a photo of the entire bike prior to stripping down? In 1945, the Malvern Star bikes were austerity models, no chrome, black painted Australian made running gear parts, black painted bars and stem. And no coaster brake hubs left by then. I think you will discover that your bike is 1954.

I do not recall seeing any that would fit with the description of "Its distinctive red, white and blue finish is set off with sparkling chrome plating..."
It may have been the red and blue replaced the royal purple and gold. The white could have been the white mudguards. All speculation!
The advertisements were just a minor rework of those used the year before for the Coronation.
