What crankset is this?

Postby speedster356 » Thu Nov 23, 2017 6:54 am

Had this track bike for some time, it has an inch pitch crankset with 7" double fluted crank arms. But it has a miss matched NDS arm, I hope to restore this soon so looking for a matching NDS arm, 7" double fluted. Cheers Peter

OK, had a message and looks like a Williams from the 50s. I'd be looking for a matching NDS arm though.

Replica, no mine, also have a replica 550 Spyder with an 2.5 STI turbo and gearbox. But they're taking up room that bikes could be occupying!

Get more space, they look excellent choices and would be great fun to take out for a drive.

Did you find the engravings on the chainring or crank?

Cool, 1946 chain ring. C34 7" crank. Fluted version 1s 4d extra in 1962. Single and double fluted made. So the crank arm is later.

Maybe not, I'm pretty sure I have a 40's or 50's fluted Williams crank in the shed, maybe not a C34...
(wanders off to shed to check...)

Well I was wrong, my set are Nicklins. However, I have seen early fluted Williams cranks, can't say if they were C34's tho.
