Gotta agree with this one, never had a problem with getting the pad alignment right with the q/r's on my FELT crosser ever. Didn't even realize it was a problem...

with qr's had a couple of times when the ding ding of pad hitting rotor alerted me to the front wheel having moved under braking - had to do qr's up much much tighter than would have done with a rim braked wheel to be happy - thru axles fix this....here's a now dated but worth reading article from UK bike co' Cotic on why on their earliest disk forks they placed the caliper mount to the front of the fork:
