Wooden rims

I just read a post from 2017 which prompted me to join BNA. About tires not staying on the rims. Maybe I am too late..who knows. Because the rims have no hook bead you can only use up to 60psi in the tires or they will go off with a hiss and a bang. I just had a rear one trued up by my LBS, he pumped them up too much after then heard an almighty bang and the tire flew off! I love my Ghisalo rims! I have a Vanhulsteijn in single speed mode.

assuming they are for clinchers, the rims are rated to 4.5 bar which equates to 65psi.
What you need to do is ensure that the tyres have a wire bead (ie NOT folding).
It depends on your weight as to the tyre width.
Being a clydesdale, I need to go to a wider width tyre to work with the max tyre pressure for a hookless rim.

That's a first for me, as I thought they were only made for singles and in yesteryear.
