Now have a ratchet on my Avanti Fixie/Single Speed. Need to take it for a roll now.

Built from scrap/free/ spare parts

Dead weight 8.68kg. Can drop more if getting lighter tyres and carbon parts but it's not worth it...
After getting rear rack, lights and bottle full water, it goes up to 11kg

I think Canberra is made for a Fixie... easy around the lake and a couple of nice hills for some grinding practice... even some of the fire trails and single tracks are are manageable

A Jim Bundy track iron that somehow escaped to the UK. Resprayed in pearl white by Argos Racing Cycles in Bristol, with decals from Cyclomondo in Australia, and I found a proper round-bladed track fork for it, because it came with a non-matching road fork. The forward lean of the top tube is normal for a Bundy track bike.

I bought it from gypsy a few years ago and there was speculation of Tasmanian origin, i.e. McBain/Record, but never uncovered the truth before I sold it on.

Haven't seen a NJS for quite some time. Interesting colour from Gan Well Pro as always.

The extension of the straight bullhorn always seems off for me when it is so far forward above the front axle. I reckon a short riser will look more trendy and tame. What curvy black stem is that?

Yeah I had the same sentiment with the bullhorns but tried it and it actually feels really good on this, and IRL they seem quite short, whereas in the photo they look very long - maybe just perspective. Nitto RB-010. It's a 54cm (or maybe 535) frame and I'm usually a 56 road frame, and I just felt very cramped up with drops or riders.

Stem is a 3ttt. It's a 46 might comp on superbe x 17 DA NJS.
Velocity/DA NJS rear wheel, Soma post, flite 1990 woven (awful with jeans), hatta swan headset, zipp3000.

Didn't pick that as a 46T ring. Must be the smallish frame.

I reckon a black Miche Supertype seatpost will tie in with the stem and the Zipp nicely.

My COVID build. Time it took was a couple of Bushmill because I needed the cork caps. Tube as bar tape. Works extremely well, grippy, waterproof, wrap tension adjustable, so not sure why no one else does.

Seat tube at 62cm c-c, relatively short top tube at 58cm c-c, which caused the very long head tube. Personally, I can ride 64cm max, before the stand over height got me.

3ttt mod. record seatpost. They are still around mainly in Italy market.

With tubes, some remain fresh under my veranda for 5+ years whilst some did dry and crack up. Anyhow, I never patch a punctured tube, so endless supply of them as bar tape.

Figured this should be here, too, despite not quite being finished. Should get back to where it's kept in a couple of weeks to add a seat, pedals, trim the chain and wrap the bars.

No idea on builder. It said "CHRIS BROWN" on the downtube, I peeled all but the "BRO" off it just because. Drilled fork ends reminiscent of McBain but nothing definitive.

I've had a couple of singlespeeds in the past, but decided to go fixed for training and picked up this 2010 Charge Plug for $80.







It must have been near the sea at some point in it's life, with plenty of corrosion and a stuck seatpost.









After a bare metal respray ($0), new bars, stem, seatpost, and saddle ($0), and a good scrub she's come up very nicely







For a 2.6kg bare frame (apparently plain gauge Tange cromo) it rides really nicely, looking forward to putting plenty of kms on it.
