Shock report: driving more increases your chance of dying

Are Australia’s roads becoming more dangerous? Here’s what the data says

Straight from the “bleeding obvious” (but politically unpalatable) files: new research shows that the vehicular accident& death rates are strongly correlated to fuel usage (a.k.a. Distance driven).

That is, if you want to lower the road toll you need to get people out of their cars.

But promoting planned cities or alternate transport options is rampant socialism so we can’t possibly do that.

Unless it’s the Middle Arm Sustainable Development Precinct, that’s supporting “jobs and growth” (a.k.a. Oil and gas interests and property developers )

Agreed that is the media driven attitude that prevails for many here.

The fact that so many swallow it, makes us a backward country imo.
