Well Aldo (AT) quantum bicycles replaced the 'internal hub bearings', dont know what the official term is but he needed to pull it apart to do that.
Did an 80km ride on the weekend and see no leaks!! : )
Will go for another long ride this weekend to make it official.

good luck. I've resigned myself to the hub dropping some oil.

15ml oil changes are the key to cleaner Rohloffs.

Well, the bike has been sitting unused since my last update as i went backpacking for a change.
Did about 500km in the last month on it and i can still see a small leak from somewhere on the drive side.
I am going for another long tour soon so guess i will just have to live with it. Just a shame because so many parts were replaced and i was pretty much guaranteed it will not leak anymore.
May re-visit that shop again after i come back.

Do you have the right seal in now, or is it the light seal after the bearings were replaced?
I've had a few Rohloffs barely used that didn't leak, so not really a wear/tear/trauma example. I've got one that's had about 5000km now, first belt drive off-road, then with electric assist chain drive on-road use 4000km most recently. When I got a Nextie warranty rim replaced and rebuilt by Quantum, they noted original owner had overfilled it, so the first 5000km no leaks in that case.
I'd suggest keep dealing with Quantum, after the recent work if any ongoing issues ask them to document and summarise to Rohloff asking for a warranty exchange? Especially if you're having a break from the bike doing backpacking etc. can try get in before European summer holidays (our winter) for it to be turned around.

Still have the "tight seal" they installed but its broken in so no issues wit hit catching when pedaling.
Yes i will have to go back to them but i am leaving for a usa tour 3rd of june so may need to do it after. Hopefully it doesnt leak too badly as i will be away 5 months cycling.

Ok just visited quantum bicycles to explain the situation.
Aldo took the sprocket off, had a look under the bearing seal, it seemed ok, only a small amount of clean oil in there.
He is pretty confident this is due to hub sipping out excess oil and not actually leaking.
Next report will be end of October when i return.
