I find reports on "grip" by seat of the pants journalists hard to take seriously. There must be a better method than some fella concluding that its Ok because he negotiated a wet corner without the rear wheel sliding. It would be interesting to have these riders wearing blinkers so that they could not see the tyres being tested, and get their reports on a dozen different tyres in one session. Until then, we are being fed fertiliser; theirs!Nobody wrote:Duranos get a good writeup. Comparison to Gators at the end.

Well I got a Durano and put it on the front. Similar pressure to the previous Rubino Pro, which I believe corner slightly better than the Gators. The Durano (being a dual compound tyre) was confidence inspiring on my first ride (dry). I checked the tyre flex with my fingers before installing them to find the Rubino Pro easier to flex than the (thicker) Durano. However on the road I couldn't really tell any rolling resistance difference. Even though there is nothing wrong with the Rubino I took off, it won't be going back on the front other than emergency replacement. I'll save it for the back when the other Rubino wears out.
