Me too. I went out for a longer ride yesterday and little did I know I was only about 1.5km sort of 60km.

Had I known that I would have put in another couple of laps of the crit. track while I was there :).

The bloke in Singapore who is leading the Festive 500 is superhuman, not just 507kms in one ride, but at a moving average of 30.3kmh

Similar here - I didn't realise that if I did another 4km this afternoon - I'd have 1250km for The Anchor.

86km this morning and 37 this afternoon. 82 yesterday. Big KM for me this week. :D (over 440km)

Have you ever been to Singapore? Flat and boring. It would be no effort to average 30kphr there the worst bit would be how boring it would be to do the same lap after lap. Mind numbingly boring.

except for the 90% humidity and the car drivers that aren't appreciative of 2 wheeled traffic

Yea but for 500km? No climbs means no downhills to rest on either.

Well, that's Gran Fondo #1 done for me. 133.6km ride this morning - most of it in thankfully cool weather with a few drops of rain. :D

I'm going to try and knock off the Prove It - Ride challenge before I get back to work.

I got a 130.05 in on Saturday. Needed to go up and down the street near home a few times to build up the last few km :).

Cheers,
Simon.

Already ordered my jersey. What a great money-spinner for them, we burn ourselves up to do the challenge, and then spend money on the jersey. Ah well, it's Castelli - so it's quality stuff.

I've got approximately 270km to go to do the prove it challenge. I may knock off 60-70km this afternoon, although I should really be resting after yesterday, I burned up all the matches I had left. I've never before been at the point where I got home and started to feel sick. Had a sugary drink and a monster serving of pasta and all was good.

220km to go for prove-it here :). But I'm back at work after the Xmas break, so only weekends left. I did have a big week (for me) last week, so I'm going to enjoy sitting down for a few days! Might get the prove it challenge done next weekend with a bit of luck.

I'm still in two minds about the jersey. As you said it'll be a good quality one, and it also looks good too.

Cheers,
Simon.

I know how that feels. I did a 526km week and then followed it with 370km last week. Awesome to do it, but tiring. I'm going to give it everything this week before I get back to work next week. :)

Don't know if I'll go for the shirt on the prove it challenge. I've got to get a few new business shirts and a suit for work. All this riding has made me extremely thin. 8)

If anyone in Brisbane is wanting the 500 shirt, I'm doing an order with a couple of mates (4) and we need one more to qualify for the free shipping. I'll be getting them delivered to the CBD so you can grab them off me when they get delivered.
