I know i was the one who suggested it, and almost any price is worth paying to ride up the Jimna range, but it's right on the limit. Definitely check it out yourself and see what you think.

Will try to get up thee next week. If its really crap Ill reroute us via Bellthorpe and maybe throw in Brandenberg.ldrcycles wrote:I'm writing a blog post now, but it was a lot worse than i was expecting. The first 2k are actually bitumen now, and up til the school campground the dirt is in fantastic condition, but after that it goes to hell in a big way. Like cobblestones but bigger and with jagged edges. It was so rough i was down to 1st gear and 10kmh on the moto. The last few kms have recently been graded for logging trucks, but then spread with loose pea gravel. With 32mm+ tyres and extreme care you would probably get through, but the chances of pinch flatting would be sky high, and it will take a hell of a long time.

I drove down Brandenberg today, on a family geocaching outing. I forget how good the views are from there.

By the last 30k there won't be any groups, just the limping wasted bodies of what used to be vibrant energetic cyclists.
Enjoy.

Buderium 9 would be a drop in the ocean compared to 3 peaks. It's less than 1500m of climbing. I think you would be better served by repeats of Bellthorpe range rd. Steep and quiet. Perfect for hurting yourself and perfecting your descending skillsjasonc wrote:it's already been suggestedcancan64 wrote:Buderim 9 would be a good training run...

Yep with 200k in the legs you have to do the equivalent of 4xCoottha backs in a row after W-T-F, put the biggest gear on your bike it will take, you're a solid guy, you wont regret it as you zig zag upjasonc wrote:the last 30kms is where I hope my coot-thas come back into muscle memory. the first 10kms of falls is about equivalent to 5 coot-thasCrawf wrote:I did the CC 3P's in 2014, great weekend away.

Recently put a 32t on 6800 Di2 for a Japan Alps trip, there was much laughter directed at me initially, but guess who was laughing in the end.
