Does anyone know anything about Cantisafe brakes? I've looked, come up with one solitary UK Ebay listing, no info of note. Will take them off over the weekend for a look over, but was just wondering first.
Came on a Townsend Corsican semi-tourer I picked up for a project.

Company was Polygon, apparently: https://www.scribd.com/document/4117332 ... th-Edition
(Page 273, or do a search for Cantisafe.)
Edit: here's a set of Polygon brakes for sale...they look similar, but not exactly: https://www.ebay.com/itm/166244692539

Now that's a buried reference, cheers. Fits with the original owner buying it and bringing it out from England. A few parts need changing out. Cleaning ahoy tomorrow I reckon.

Know much about Townsend? Frame looks a bit Dawes-ish

The handlebars are Dawes branded. I reckon there was probably a few of the 80s tourers in the UK coming out of one workshop with different branding as stores bought them to build and sell on. Not many results for Townsend Corsican on line, but some of the Dawes Galaxy and other tourers are somewhat similar. Cable guides a bit different and only the guard eyelets up front, but it might go OK for whatever I set it to. Seller definitely bought it in England in the 80s, rode it London to Amsterdam a couple of times (hopefully via ferry, he didn't say), among other trips.
