Alenax. I have no desire to pay money for one of those, but riding one is on my to-do list out of morbid curiosity.

Been up on Gumtree for a while: https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/sunshin ... 1312209060 seller is optimistic at $4500, but $6500 is hilarious.

I find the 'only one in the world' a bit heavy handed - doesn't that apply to every custom bike?

I'm sad the Somec parts aren't on a Somec, but that's just a personal grievance.

Hmm - yeah he's a serious, pricey seller. He has one of those Gusto frames i wouldn't mind trying out, except they're always over-there, over-priced and kindof ugly to boot. Seems to have a few of them. And an octopus mate who holds the bikes upright,

A bike in Bentleigh with wooden rims. The frame looks a little anachronistic to my inexperienced eye.

For anyone interested in Grant Petersen bikes, RB-1 is up

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/335277057033

Apparently these clear 32mm

Too aggressive for my back though but someone else might be interested

To anyone who isn't familiar with the bike or Grant

Damn, I would have gone with this. Been looking at their frames like the Platypus for something a bit more relaxed

This one is annoying me a bit.

Lovely bike to be sure. But an secondhand bike with an Ultegra Mechanical 11 speed groupset on a $3600 frameset albeit with a $1500 custom paint job with $4000 wheels for $17,000?

What exactly are you smoking, lady? She conveniently hasn't listed the invoice total for the bike but I'm pretty sure it's around $10k. Brand new.

There was a little bit of negative feedback, now deleted with comments locked. Crazy stuff!

I know, but this was spectacularly crazy. Now $15k, comments still locked.

I love the geniuses selling used parts for more than you can buy them for new including postage. Sometime was trying to sell some used Shimano yellow cleats for $25 there last week.

Just added up her parts list in GBP and using current conversion rates, comes to $17,160 AUD. No dates on that paperwork so no real idea how old. And it has been custom built to suit her at 165 cm.
Good luck with that sale :)

Well that explains the price at least!

'I believe this custom made bicycle that I spent way too much money on an undisclosed period of years ago is now worth exactly what I paid for it then'.

I'm actually impressed she managed to spend that much on a bike with mechanical Ultegra. Wonder how many times the manufacturer asked 'are you sure?' in the build process.

There's currently a whole bunch of previous model used Madones for sale on Facebook at more than an equivalent current model costs. Pretty sure they've ordered new ones, not sure why they think they can charge more than a new one for their old one.

They're selling the old (gen 7) design which still has the stupid seatpost. So it's not that!

they are many who believe the Gen 7 is a better aero bike and with its short production run, will be a Trek collectors item in due time.

(I don't have a Trek myself, but have spoken to many Trek owners who share the above opinion)
