Riding from langwarrin to Warburton

Postby gil176 » Sat Feb 03, 2024 5:10 pm

Hi to all, I am planning a road ride from Langwarrin to Warburton in June. I see there are several possible routes. Could anyone advise me of the best way to go? Thanks in advance. Rob Gillett.

I'm by no means "a local", your challenge is how you get yourself to Lilydale for the start of the excellent path up to Warburton.
Google maps says this: https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Langwar ... ?entry=ttu

Someone more "inner south east" Melbourne might have better suggestions. While I have ridden the Lilydale-Warburton path, I've not accessed it from the south east.

That's quite a trip! I've ridden most of the road between Pakenham and Launching Place (i.e. the Gembrook Rd, which further north becomes the Gembrook-Launching Place Rd), and it's quite scenic (fairly hilly, though). From Launching Place, you can get onto the Lilydale-Warburton Rail Trail, and it's an easy ride to Warburton from there.
