It’s a weird thing…

Don’t forget, it is early in the season and I feel some riders are peaking early for the classics and others are building up still.
Sorry mate, but BWAAAAHAHAHAAAAAAA

The only thing Froomay is building up is his bank balance.

Have to agree with F&O. Was OTL on last stage of Tour of the Alps (25min+ after stage winner).

TdF participation ? Yeah right

Should stick to canning disc brakes, TT bikes and gravel stages

That's a bit harsh - OTL means Froome has heaps of room for improvement. With a bit of luck he might even crack the top 100

I can almost hear your BWAHAHAHAHA resonate off the padded walls… It may have sounded like I implied that he will be back in yellow…. though no.

Was thinking more about the young guns after the major tour GC’s who are not going too hard yet. I reckon that Froome will still have his training geared to peak later… but he won’t reach the same heights.

So his role with Team Israel Startup Nation would be a seasoned veteran to support the team but also as an ex winner, he automatically draws in media attention and visibility for the team and sponsors.

I dunno ‘bout that. Those young fellas seem to enjoy getting out and racing hard pretty well straight up nowadays. Looking at the form in todays peloton the old school GT riders…..build up through spring with a few one week hit outs and steer clear of one day gigs bar LBL and maybe FW seem the anomalous types. Quintana, Nibali, Landa, any of the Ineos leaders, even Roblox to a fair degree…..they seem sorta old fashioned.

Can't be much support for the young guns in the races if he's always out the back or OTL

Maybe he just passes his knowledge on in the 1st 30 - 50km before he gets spat out the back .....

100% agree. Others with similar injuries (but not as serious) have been a good example, with Robert Gesink being a great example.

Interesting story in CN. Topic is Pro series relegation under the new system next year. Points points points. Focused on one team, and that team is Israel.

https://www.cyclingnews.com/features/wo ... -strategy/

Quite detailed, not bad.

Not one single mention of Froomay. Not one.

Froome actually placed 11th in a one day race

https://www.procyclingstats.com/race/me ... 022/result

Ahead of some other decent riders, but were they trying ?

The route was 168km with 4,700 odd metres of ascent at an average of 34.7km/hr and Froomedog was almost 4 min behind the winner, but still ......

And slated to participate in the Dauphine, so interesting how he'll go in that ?

Well, Froome-dogs recent performances started to look good, especially after an ordinary Romandie (although he finished), with an 11th at the Mercan Tour Classic Alpes-Maritime, only 3:58 behind Fugslang and ahead of some other good climbers.

The next race was then the Dauphine and a good performance there could help him gain selection for TdF - a long shot abut he's also come a long way from that terrible accident.

At the Dauphine, his progress was/is ;

Stage 1 - 56th on stage at 0:00"
Stage 2 - 30th at 0:05" (with bunch), GC now 41st (AT) 0:15"
Stage 3 - 35th at 0:31" GC now 35th (AT) 0:47" - still looking good
Stage 4 (ITT) - 64th at 3:06" (best of IPT team), GC now 38th (AT) 3:51" - gap widening ....
Stage 5 - 107th at 2:43" GC now 61st (AT) 6:44" - oh dear

And the mountain stages are coming ...
