The Dulwich Hills Bicycle Club Christmas Cycling Carnival
Saturday, December 10.
Tempe Velodrome celebrates 40th anniversary. Points racing, Sprint racing, Omnium, Wheel Race. Musical entertainment, craft beer, good food, held under lights. Paul Craft commentary. Saturday, December 10. Tempe Velodrome.
I was notified of this through a FB group page this morning.
Looks like it could be an interesting event, might get myself there as it'll be my very last Sydney event before I move down South in 3 weeks.
Cheers

G'day LS
Yeah mate I bought a house in Albury 6 Months ago, tenant moving out and I'm moving in
Can't wait, good riding down that way and a nice tree change instead of concrete jungles (Sydney)
Cheers

Awesome ...my son lived there for a year, working for Senator Bridget McKenzie out of her Wodonga office. Such amazing public facilities, bike paths, walks, restaurants. We did some great road rides there too. Unfortunately the job became too stressful and he had to move back up here. He misses the people and the lifestyle there.brumby33 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 30, 2022 9:36 pmG'day LS

That's great news, good luck with the move, seems like a great place to live, the benefits of being out of Sydney / Melbourne rat race but a Albury/Wodonga population of 100,000+ with all the services that attracts, great riding north & south of the border, great rail trails in Vic and not too far from Melbourne, (trains 4 time a day / 3h:30m, very civilised), Victoria great for touring, dust off that Vivente

Yeah LS, it seems like a fantastic Town with most stuff you could ever want and as you say, Melb & Canberra only 3 hours each way (for our Costco trips LOL)LateStarter wrote: ↑Thu Dec 01, 2022 12:30 pmThat's great news, good luck with the move, seems like a great place to live, the benefits of being out of Sydney / Melbourne rat race but a Albury/Wodonga population of 100,000+ with all the services that attracts, great riding north & south of the border, great rail trails in Vic and not too far from Melbourne, (trains 4 time a day / 3h:30m, very civilised), Victoria great for touring, dust off that Vivente
We stayed there on our way down to Melbourne and decided to stay an extra day we liked it so much, then we've made 2 extra trips and bought a nice sized 3 bed roomer (my retirement house hopefully)
Also, happy to know with all the rain and flooding on the Murray River that our house is out of flood reach.
Yeah the Vivente will definitely earn it's keep once this decrepit body gets a bit into shape and I also intend on buying either an MTB or Gravel bike but steering towards MTB. I'll see how I go with the Vivente to see whether or not I need an E-bike lol. The Nail Can Hill MTB track is only about a 10 minute ride from my house.
We'll be moving in the weekend before Xmas so a bit of a tight schedule lol, so the only Xmas unboxing we'll be doing won't be wrapped in Chrissy Paper....too late to Give Santa our change of address

Yeah Derny, depends on how the house packing goes, I hope to go there also. It'll be my last event in Sydney.DernyDriver wrote: ↑Thu Dec 01, 2022 9:33 amAwesome ...my son lived there for a year, working for Senator Bridget McKenzie out of her Wodonga office. I went there before Covid hit for a Historical Bike event and bike parts market maybe 2018 or 19, not sure but it was a good day out. I didn't really like leaving my bike outside chained to a fence but there were plenty of volunteers out there keeping an eye on the parked bikes.
Only a 5 Minute ride from Wolli Creek station, the velodrome easy to get to. send me a PM if you're going.
Cheers
