Well more like yesterday, but meh.
I rode from Jells Park to East Malvern Railway Station (Scotchmans Creek Bike Trail)
East Malvern Station to Yarra Blvd, the one that starts from the exit of the Monash Freeway to around Melbournes Girls College)
Yarra Blvd to Federation Square (Capital City Trail)
It is 25km one way, so 50km all up.
Takes me about 2 hrs 15 mins.
Been riding this trail for about 1 year now.
Does anyone know any other good rides around my area? (I'm not too sure about the Anniversary Trail from East Malvern Station, will have to give that a try someday)

Renegades Group A did Lane Cove to Brooklyn and back - around 90km in around 3 hours, which translates to an elapsed average of 30 km/h. Actual ride average was around 31 km/h, which slows how little we stopped!
The climb out of Brooklyn wasn't as fearsome as I remembered it to be - it's actually a nice gentle climb, which I did at a leisurely pace of 17 km/h (39x21 gearing).

But after a week of packing everything away, and living out of take-away containers, it is a start!
All being well, there is fine chance of a ride tomorrow...

Needless to say I won't be repeating this ride any time soon....it's such a monotonous (but practical) route - 76 km of bike path from Sth Yunderup Rd to the Narrows Bridge with only 1 minor road to cross....pretty darn bike friendly but dead boring, and at various times I was sore in the shoulders, elbows, neck, (need aero bars for this route) ITB and knees, not to mention the overheating problem which saw me stop to refill water 3 times (I carried 3 bottles) On arrival home my body let me know about it by rejecting some of my calorific/fluid intake in the form of diarrhoea but I did feel much better after.
The ride obviously did me some good because today I felt pretty good on the 80km CTA social ride that I took part in.

There was a guy next to me in bike knicks. I have no idea what he was trying to achieve - he was spinning at about 150rpm for about 30 minutes and bouncing on the seat so violently I thought he was going to shake the thing to bits. Weird.

I have converted the quill stem into a new fangled modern one, and needed a big flat safe area to test the new bars and brakes etc.
I had just gotten the final adjustment on the bars when the right pedal fell off! Oh dear
But the handle bars are good, and the brakes work!

My bike ride was a group ride with Bike North.
The ride was Naremburn to Cronulla.
I cycled from the Dee Why to meet the group.
The route we took went via the ANZAC bridge and Summer Hill.
After Summer Hill we cycled along the Cooks River Cycleway.
Then followed the signs to Cronulla.
After Cronulla we caught the train to Town Hall.
I cycled to Circular Quay then Ferry to Manly.
Rode to Dee Why
Distance: 76.34km
