So where did I ride today?
Well more like yesterday, but meh.

I rode from Jells Park to East Malvern Railway Station (Scotchmans Creek Bike Trail)
East Malvern Station to Yarra Blvd, the one that starts from the exit of the Monash Freeway to around Melbournes Girls College)
Yarra Blvd to Federation Square (Capital City Trail)

It is 25km one way, so 50km all up.
Takes me about 2 hrs 15 mins.
Been riding this trail for about 1 year now.

Does anyone know any other good rides around my area? (I'm not too sure about the Anniversary Trail from East Malvern Station, will have to give that a try someday)

Another commute from Kellyville Ridge to Springwood. Am definately getting better, though between Emu Plains and Springwood ..... all ...... I ....... wanted .... (huff) ...... was ...... one ...... (huff) ...... FRIGGIN ...... (huff) ...... traffic light!!!!!!! Green lights all the way! Was it too much to ask for a 30 second break!!! The gods were definately laughing at me this morning.

A good 100km round trip commute for the whole day though.

My day at home with our 2yo daughter. During her nap it was on the trainer in front of the TV. It was a travel doc on the screen so does that location count?

Today was a great day for a ride, though it got a bit hot by mid morning.

Renegades Group A did Lane Cove to Brooklyn and back - around 90km in around 3 hours, which translates to an elapsed average of 30 km/h. Actual ride average was around 31 km/h, which slows how little we stopped!

The climb out of Brooklyn wasn't as fearsome as I remembered it to be - it's actually a nice gentle climb, which I did at a leisurely pace of 17 km/h (39x21 gearing).

Lovely spot that and I bet it was cooler being in the rainforest too?

Well wasn't today - just did a shop ride. But yesterday did a 104km ride up to Katoomba and back. A new first for me yay!

Moved house this week, and got my first 'ride' in... took the bike off the back of my car, and 'rode' it down the driveway to the garage...

But after a week of packing everything away, and living out of take-away containers, it is a start!

All being well, there is fine chance of a ride tomorrow...

Went down to Fairfield, met up with some riding buddies followed the rail trail to Canley Vale, then Orphan School Creek all the way to Fairfield City Farm. Then Rode back to Canley Vale, where I farewelled some buddies, and with the remaining buddies we rode to Liverpool on the rail trail and had a late lunch at Westfields. Then road back to Canley Vale, back along Orphan School Creek, to the Cumberland Highway where we then went to a mate's place to sit in an air-conditioned room for a while. All up about 42km according to a buddy's bike computer. Not bad, considering I did it all on the R20, single speed!

In the Royal National Park today. First proper ride since injuring my knee 4 weeks ago. 65km. In Waterfall, out Audley. Have lost a noticeable amount of power on the climbs in those 4 weeks. Ouch.

It's just nice to be out on the bike again though.

This weekend saw a lull in Audax activity in Perth so I took the opportunity to do my own thing. After a late night on Friday night I only managed to start riding at 8:30AM. Originally I had planned to take off early to try a route in the Perth Hills with some testing climbs. (1 or 2 are at about 20% gradient as measured by Bikely) However as it was to be a hot day and I was up so late I decided to make a radical change to my plans and instead head down to Pinjarra via the new Freeway bike path with 200k as the target, essentially a flat but very exposed ride. So with arm protectors and tights protecting me from the blazing sun I headed off on what became pretty much a time trial with a 20 minute lunch interval by the Murray River at Pinjarra. The max. temp was a late 32 deg. so I concentrated on keeping hydration up. In the end, due to some cross headwinds on the return journey I was unable to achieve an average speed of 30kmh and came in at 29.25 over a distance of 201 kms (overall avg. spd including stops was 26.8 kmh)

Needless to say I won't be repeating this ride any time soon....it's such a monotonous (but practical) route - 76 km of bike path from Sth Yunderup Rd to the Narrows Bridge with only 1 minor road to cross....pretty darn bike friendly but dead boring, and at various times I was sore in the shoulders, elbows, neck, (need aero bars for this route) ITB and knees, not to mention the overheating problem which saw me stop to refill water 3 times (I carried 3 bottles) On arrival home my body let me know about it by rejecting some of my calorific/fluid intake in the form of diarrhoea but I did feel much better after.

The ride obviously did me some good because today I felt pretty good on the 80km CTA social ride that I took part in. :D

In the gym, on one of those spin bikes. It had it's own little fan with a directable vane to keep me cool. Did a short set of single leg drills - haven't done them for about a month. The spds came in handy - trying to use the toeclips side of the pedal would have made the drill impossible. Lots of sweat and the bike didn't move very far, I'm afraid.

There was a guy next to me in bike knicks. I have no idea what he was trying to achieve - he was spinning at about 150rpm for about 30 minutes and bouncing on the seat so violently I thought he was going to shake the thing to bits. Weird. :?

Took Grace out for a test ride today to the local park. I was working on the saddle height and handle bar height and the brake level settings.

I have converted the quill stem into a new fangled modern one, and needed a big flat safe area to test the new bars and brakes etc.

I had just gotten the final adjustment on the bars when the right pedal fell off! Oh dear

But the handle bars are good, and the brakes work! :D

My bike ride was a group ride with Bike North.
The ride was Naremburn to Cronulla.

I cycled from the Dee Why to meet the group.

The route we took went via the ANZAC bridge and Summer Hill.

After Summer Hill we cycled along the Cooks River Cycleway.
Then followed the signs to Cronulla.

After Cronulla we caught the train to Town Hall.

I cycled to Circular Quay then Ferry to Manly.
Rode to Dee Why

Distance: 76.34km
