I have an old 2 star track frame with serial number 7620 vertical on the right rear dropout. Only other number I could find looks like a casting number (raised not stamped) on the bottom of the bottom bracket hard to read but looks like 851. The frame has an oiler on the top of the bottom bracket and pump stays on the seat tube. The head has the 2 stars surrounded by ornate lugs. Any idea as to the age or history of the bike. I rescued this frame from a hard rubbish pile 45 years ago as a kid and built it into my first racer with modern parts back then. Still have & ride the bike today and is in almost the same condition as when I first built it.

I'm new on this forum. I have joined as I have just got a Malvern Star frame and I'm trying to find out a little bit about it. Looks pretty early to me 2 stars on the headstem. Bsa cranks.
Bolted on back struts and serial number on the seat post 60431
Unfortunately its pretty much just a frame.
Cheers
Anthony

Just trying to get some information on a 2 Star Malvern Star bike frame I have which only has the bottom bracket, seat stem, head stem and handle bars fitted.
The frame number is 8M 19993 but it is stamped on the left side rear fork dropout running around the outer edge not vertically and not on the right hand side like some of the other ones listed. I can`t find any other numbers except the bottom bracket casting number. Thanks

It has straight /track style drop outs.
it has 2 vertical stars on the head set, and one star either side of the forks.
It has integrated bearing cups into the headset.
The serial number on the rear right drop out is: 7M 6255
There is a stamp on the Bottom Bracket "British Made GR V LS (g)" which means at least the bottom bracket was made in Britain.
Can you help me identify what year it is?
Melbourne made I guess..

Serial number in right chainstay:
34
311039
Last digit bit hard to read as stamped on edge
Any thoughts on how old this is, or is it worth spending any time on?

I have been searching for a 1930's Malvern Star and believe I found one. It's a 2 star. It has the snail cam adjustment and the cyclo hanger.
Running 28" wheels but they do not seem to be original.
Cranks are a non-matching pair. There's no stamp on crank or chainring; have assumed they're not BSA or Williams.
serial number stamped on right hand side drop out = 33940.
Do you know what year this would be?
Cheers

Serial number on the left of seat upright seems to read
7P
37673
What year would this bike be from?
Doesn’t look like original wheels
Paint looks original as there is no paint underneath where it is scratched
It has what looks like “magistroni” on one of the cranks
Any help with identifying this bike would be gratefully appreciated
It seems I’m asking in the correct place

7P prefix usually means Made in Perth in 1947.JimmyBlack wrote: ↑Sat Oct 31, 2020 5:59 pmHi I have what I think is a 2 star ladies bike

Frame number is 8549.
Based on what I've gleaned from this thread it seems to me that it's likely a 1960's frame.. but the sample size is small; the majority bikes submitted and discussed are from the 1940's, very few from the 60's forward. My guess is based mostly on the 4 digit frame number.
Couple of pics

i went for a walk this afternoon and came across an old bike Buried underneath some tin and chicken wire, i managed to pull it out and discovered it was a Malvern Star Bike.
upon research i came across this Forum, and have been reading - very interesting how the serial numbers have changed throughout the years.
I've been reading, but i cant seem to work out what year it is. Photos are attached, but it is a:
Malvern 2 star (6 Points)
it has a star on either side of the forks,
Pressed rear Dropout (Facing Backwards) with vertical SN - 19035
27x1 1/4" Tyres,
3 Speed Hub (unsure of brand - SN 3021728)
Fork tube - https://flic.kr/p/2mcK4jQ
Fork tube - https://flic.kr/p/2mcK4kS
Rear Dropout SN - https://flic.kr/p/2mcF1FK
Full Bike - https://flic.kr/p/2mcK4t7
Apologies if i used any wrong terminology - I'm not a bike fanatic, just love a ride every now and then for fitness!
Cheers, Josh

It is a malvern 2 star with a pressed rear drop out, 3 speed hub, 27x1 1/4" tyres, but id like to get an exact year on it if possible..
SN on the rear dropout is 19035.
Apparently SN without a letter prefix started once again in 1960, but i'm unsure of their yearly production numbers, so i cant work it out myself. Any help will be Highly Appreciated!
SN - https://flic.kr/p/2mcF1FK
Whole bike - https://flic.kr/p/2mcK4t7
must say i am thoroughly impressed. After Sitting for over 20 years, the cranks spin freely, front hub spins freely, the rear hub does to; after giving it a jolt forwards ands backwards... if it had a chain, i'm certain i could've ridden it home!!
Cheers, Josh.
