Sydney weather this morning!!!

Commuted yesterday and today, cool but not cold starts. Long gloves, jacket, no leg warmers. Maybe if I was leaving at 6:30, not 8:15 it would be different. A guy up the road rolled home as I left this morning in shorts and arm warmers and he was head to toe rugged up, must have been out real early!

Coming home is trickier at the moment. Don't really need the morning jacket, but don't want to bring two...so just got very sweaty going home last night.

Early on it is still very, very cold. I've seen 5ºC or less indicated on my watch.

Put away my winter cycling clothes and had a very pleasant ride thru Bobbin Head in summer kit. The road thru the park is pretty good now with the resurfacing work done over the last few months complete. Power levels were best in the last 6 weeks as finally over a cold and mild back injury.

Somewhat chilly still this morning with the wind picking up quite dramatically. It was quite gusty on the way back.

Some areas were still flooded from the rain yesterday. For the temps, I'm used to riding in 40ºC recently so going back to 5-7ºC mornings is not nice.

Yes pretty cold but dug out my winter gear and ride was was good with very little wind. Glutes were complaining, I think from the running yesterday.

Even colder this morning, but no riding for me as looking after grandson. From Friday expecting over 30C for a number of days.

I saw 4.2ºC indicated temperature so didn't bother going outside at all. Given I have a bit of a cold at the moment there is no point getting worse.

Smoky! Rode out on Somerville Rd thinking about descending down to Crosslands but very smoky at the top from the hazard reduction just over the creek. The climb back is hard enough so given the conditions gave it a miss. Then out to Bobbin Head which was also a but smoky from the burn further east. Still good to be out riding.

I wasn't riding but in the east today and the smoke had drifted that way too.

A few ripper days coming up - starting with 25C tomorrow and getting up to mid thirties by the middle of next week!

Cooler start at 6:30am due to cloud and such, but a nuce 3 hours out this morning. Maybe another one tomorrow.

Also left at 6:30am this morning. Glad I ditched the leg warmers and long gloves. It warmed up quickly. Very nice.

I didn't avoid it, but fortunately where I was it was only heavy rain and no hail. I looked on the radar and thought I'd make it home before the storm but ended up with 7-8kms of riding into the thick of it. At least the rain meant the shared paths were devoid of dog walkers and pedestrians

No such problems for me, I was already well tanned from August. Plenty of 40ºC+ every day in the mountains.

I went at 6:45am this morning - didn't find it particularly hot, it was quite comfortable weather. What wasn't so nice was the very close encounter with a juvenile brown snake... The little guy appeared to be like a small stick - only when I got close did I see what it really was and the thing got quite cranky. Lucky I was going fast downhill.

I've never seen a young brown snake before, they are quite small.

It was quite cold this morning. I thought it was going to rain so didn't go out - a bit of can't be bothered as well.

It was comfortably warm this afternoon for a short 30km ride.

A large brown snake obviously agreed, parking itself right across the middle of the path on a turn - I spotted it in plenty of time and did some riding off through the grass with the Cervelo S5. The snake kept watch but otherwise didn't seem worried.

No riding today… I had the alarm set to go out early.

I turned it off and went back to sleep.

I have a heavy flu so I'm happy it's pouring down with rain. Means I won't be missing any riding outside.

Break in the weather this morning and it was very pleasant riding thru Bobbin Head apart from water over road at the bridge.

It started bucketing down as I left my mother's care home.

15 mins of wild storm including lightning strikes ranging from 5 secs between light and noise to damn near simultaneous. Raun so heavy I could barely see. Glad it was the E trike with the bright headlight and taillight plus rear flashing light.

Get home, get trike in garage... and it stops!

What have I done to anger the weather gods that much? I even used mesh gloves when riding the motorcycle on the weekend so as not to be in full waterproofs!

Timing! Looks like rain has just about finished here.
When I used to commute I'd watch the radar and try to make it home in a gap, Sometimes it would work, sometimes it wouldn't. Not that it mattered much as a warm shower was always to be had when home. The only annoyance was drying the shoes.
