Specialized "Silas" elite (actually a Sirrus). "Carbon" (actually alloy). "Mountain Bike" (actually 700c flat bar). Lights and computer function unknown.
Could have come by it honestly, I guess, but is really ignorant if so.

It's really frustrating when our bikes get stolen right? For me, prevention is better than cure. So it is very important to always keep an eye on our valuable belongings.Skye1 wrote:We had our very expensive KTM and Carbon Corratec bikes stolen on Sunday morning. How does one add photos to postings. Any other sites you can recommend where I can list our stolen bikes. They will be easy to identify as they not available in Australia
Thanking you in advance

I had to refer to this pic....MickMelb wrote:Focus road bike with hed deep profile front wheel

Quick snap by passenger over my shoulder just in case someone recognises the bike.

If legit then the back story will be an interesting one... Just sayin.......
I rode home from work earlier this week on my R5 fancy electronic Cervelo. In work boots, tracky dacks, high vis shirt and vest, no helmet or lights, holding onto a plastic bag of goodies. I reckon anyone here would have put me up on show

Any clues on what model bikes these are? Have looked on BikeVault, but nothing recent matches.

The old deliberate spelling mistake trick? I even messaged them saying they will get a higher price if the fix the spelling, they replied “Thanks”, but havn’t updated it.
Can’t find the bike listed on Bike Vault.

Our club in Perth who ride with visual impaired stockers had 6 tandems stolen a couple of months ago. We are on gumtree/marketplace to see if they turn up. I did notice the Santana tandem advertised in the eastern states, it is a buyer beware, given the alignment of the front cranks with the back cranks, there would be a strong possibility of hitting shoes/peddles with that alignment, which suggests it is being sold by someone with little knowledge of tandems.

Is a business called "Reused or Recycled Adelaide Pty Ltd" and the Gumtree seller 'Kate' is listed on their Facebook page as a team member.stevenaaus wrote:Nice carbon frames in a box. Adelaide

So looking like they've acquired the remnants of a closed-down LBS, as are also selling a bunch of Lake brand shoes..

That is awful cheap, does look dodgy.rolandp wrote:<snip> it is a buyer beware, given the alignment of the front cranks with the back cranks, there would be a strong possibility of hitting shoes/peddles with that alignment, which suggests it is being sold by someone with little knowledge of tandems.find_bruce wrote:Santana disc brake tandem on the tree- $400 is way too cheap for a top end tandem
As an aside, 90 or 45 deg out crank alignment on tandems has been very common for a long time. It doesn't affect front/rear rider foot interference at all, that is a function of the boom tube length and that has a long boom tube.

Posted by several fake profiles, when probed on specifics of the bike, has acted belligerent on multiple facebook bike trading groups
Seller has taken listing down, but someone else has screenshotted the ad: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/it ... 2799145231

Now the ad describes it as a "Used racers bike" and offers no further information on year, model, frame size, components or accessories except "excellent break (sic) brand new chain". Call me a skeptic but that's unusually terse and devoid of information for a $9,000 bike?!?
A quick look at the seller's profile (created 12/2020) doesn't immediately strike me as someone who rides a TT bike (let alone afford this particular one).
At the risk of being criticised for implying the bike may perhaps not have been legitimately obtained by the owner without a shred of proof, I'm just going to put this out there on the off chance someone here has some sentimental attachment to it. Couldn't see anything on bike vault.

The Planet X wheelset is claimed to be one and a half months old. It appears to be an 82/101 wheelset, which a quick google tells me were available back in 2011.
In the photos you can actually see it is a large and not a medium, with a frame that must be at least pre-2016 (judging by the shape where the seat tube and top tube meet). It has an older generation Dura Ace Di2, the crankset appears to be a 7800 (released in 2004). The wording of the ad is strange and desperate: "Two Years Old Bike and I can Prove it, I can send you the Link If You Want me to".
