I don't know that he married that particular woman, but we do know that subsequently he did marry some unfortunate woman. As Thoglette alluded to, that relationship reportedly went bad with wife chasing him for some support for her and child. He also sold up his car and went AWOL against bail conditions once with a girlfriend, returning when the money was gone..trailgumby wrote: ↑Fri Dec 24, 2021 1:03 pm

I wonder how much of his screwed up life is a result of the pressure he put on himself when he did a runner a decade ago. Sometimes life is a fairer and more severe justice than the courts.

If he'd manned up at the beginning, he'd likely have served enough time by now to be out within a year or two.ColinOldnCranky wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 1:55 pmI wonder how much of his screwed up life is a result of the pressure he put on himself when he did a runner a decade ago. You’re working on the predication that he’s a man tho. He’s not, he’s a coward. His life would have sucked no matter what.trailgumby wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 11:33 pmIf he'd manned up at the beginning, he'd likely have served enough time by now to be out within a year or two.ColinOldnCranky wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 1:55 pmI wonder how much of his screwed up life is a result of the pressure he put on himself when he did a runner a decade ago. I check at least a half dozen times a month. To my knowledge there has been no movement - no court appearances - since early September 2021 when a temporary stay on his extradition was granted which, a couple of weeks later, became an indefinite stay.
If anyone knows otherwise, pls post here.

- released on bail despite concerns from police prosecutors she could flee the country
- driver’s licence had previously been suspended
I wonder when she'll decide to sneak out of the country?

I am in no way defending the driver's decision to flee, but the fact that she returned shortly with a male friend makes me wonder if she was worried about being lynched by the witnesses around the tram. I understand this is fairly common in some Asian countries. The decision to grant bail seems insane.Cyclophiliac wrote: ↑Tue Mar 22, 2022 8:43 pmAre we going to have another drawn-out legal battle with this one?

Interesting she is claiming "the Tessla made me do it".

One of the conditions of bail (read it) was that passport was surrendered.Cyclophiliac wrote: ↑Tue Mar 22, 2022 8:43 pmAre we going to have another drawn-out legal battle with this one?

Resident Sophie Gohl said she had seen Ms Lagos at the stop before, and she was wearing a black Alfred Aged Care shirt on Tuesday.
What colour clothing the victim was wearing has no relavance.

Ms Agrawal’s partner, who returned with her to the scene, told Nine News the collision was “just a normal accident, it happens every day”

Yes I noticed that quote and thought the same thing. There should be some type of aptitude test so that people like that can have their license revoked *before* they kill someone. Overtaking a stopped tram on the left while they're taking on passengers is not an accident, it's a blatent act of dangerous driving.

I hope that they don't allow the "my Tesla made me do it" excuse as a mitigating factor. There are no currently fully autonomous cars in Australia, and they all require driver supervision anyway, so it should be no excuse at all.Ross wrote: ↑Wed Mar 23, 2022 5:01 pmAnother article about the Tesla hit and run where instead of victim blaming it explores the potential legal implications

Won't occur in this country, where driving cars is a God-given right, not a privilege.uart wrote: ↑Wed Mar 23, 2022 9:37 pmYes I noticed that quote and thought the same thing.
