Thought there was a thread about this, but couldn't find it.
Looking at getting my bike fit checked out again as it has been a while.
Had it last done at Corsa Cycles by Steve (and older school style approach, and no issues with that).
Any other recommendations ? Experiences (good & bad) and what did it cost ?
TIA

I've been to Elbows Akimbo a couple of times. Anthony has an awesome setup - with the trainer setup on a rotating turntable and lots of lasers, high-speed cameras and velcro dots!
Seriously though - he does a very thorough job. Going through a history, flexibility, things like leg lengths, feet etc. etc. and then uses the trainer setup to go through the full bike fit process. And then at the end writes up a consultation record and gave me some stretches etc. to do as well.
I was amazed at the results - first time I saw an almost immediate gain (took a few rides to get used to the new fit) in climbing speed and ended up with a far better balance whilst descending.

Good question - I'm thinking somewhere around 1.5 hours.
Here's their web-site link with pricing etc. http://www.elbowsakimbo.com.au/bike-fitting-adelaide/

I like that they are local to me, but the $295 price tag is a bit much for my budget.
Thought I'd pop into Corsa cycles and found out they are closed and apparently no longer in business !
Bugger. Any other options ?

Managed to find the old thread I thought existed - Bike fit in Adelaide
Anyway, it seems that Corsa Cycles got a good rap (but they don't exist anymore), Noel (AT) Bike Station, the 'crazy hair guy' ay Bio-Mechanics Cycles & repairs, and then also the BG Fit setup at the Specialised stores.
Seems the Elbows Akimbo ($295 for basic) and BG Fit at Bike Society ($250) are similar in the tech and time taken, and given that some of the others are highly dependant on who does it, or more a bit eyeball & experience, it seems that these two are my main choice.
A big investment (that's my fortnightly discretionary spending !!! ) for me, but one that is probably due.
Any recent experience of either (other than JetRangerMike) ?

Michael, there's a physiotherapist on Magill Road (Evandale) who claims to do bike fittings... has a skeleton hunched over a Wilier frameset outside to make the point, I suppose. Can find out more if you want, though I'm an old school skeptic when it comes to big $$, dangling things and laser lights. Sorry, but the body knows what the body knows.

curiously, do they have a preconceived thought on heel down or toe down?JetRangerMike wrote:I've been to Elbows Akimbo a couple of times. Anthony has an awesome setup - with the trainer setup on a rotating turntable and lots of lasers, high-speed cameras and velcro dots!

One comment after speaking with Anthony is that he apparently has tertiary education re Biomechanics & related, although do not know what exactly or where from.
This seems to indicate that he is a cut above those that are trained in a specific system but do not have the education in the details behind why a certain issue is good or bad.
Still haven't decided yet.
