CAAD10 New project!
Postby macca33 » Fri Jan 03, 2014 5:25 pm
I'm going to build it up with my DA7800 groupset - Compact FSA Gossamer crankset, FSA carbon seatpost, Cannondale bars/stem, Selle Italia Flite saddle and my older Fulcrum R1s.
I'll update as I progress and am hoping to have the seatpost, stem and BB30 BB kit arrive next week.
We'll see how it turns out.
Cheers

Well, some progress......
We've gone from this...
Frame looks very nice in Team colours....
Added a bit here...
Bit here....
A bit there...
And we made it to here...
Waiting now for the new stem, seatpost and BB30 kit before final assembly.
cheers

Thanks mate - not an EVO which is the dream rig - but more than enough for my skillset.
Well, here they are - almost a Pigeon Pair!
First angry ride of the Team edition this morning and it was a fiery birth, as the local bunch smashed me....until I was unceremoniously dropped...d'oh! Very happy and after a couple of minor post-ride tweaks, it is running superbly.
cheers

Although, I had a crankarm failure with the FSA SL-K Light crank today - the pedal nut has come loose within the carbon crankarm, which is a non-repairable fault. Not very happy Jan!
My LBS gave me a pair of BB30-24mm adapters which were plug and play, so I fitted the DA7800 crankset and rode it in the crit today - MUCH better performing crankset/chainrings than the FSA anyway, so I'll leave it fitted.

Thanks mate. On the Team colour frame, they are white Bontrager ones and on the Berzerker frame, they are Cannondale C-Cages.
cheers.

I had some of their cranks in my MTB. BB would last about 4 months, and got sick of replacing them. While the spindle was nominally 24mm it was out by enough that you couldn't fit them a the way though any other manufacturers 24mm external BB.
I remember being warned by a bike shop years before. Sold them on ebay for about twenty bucks so I think their reputation was known.
