Of course I reckon they would last 5 minutes with me on them.

I messaged the seller, they bought it second hand about 10 years ago and don't know anything about the previous owners or the history of the model.
Not the best photos but from what I can make out it looks to be the original Megatech BB with corresponding FSA cranks. The forks also look very similar to the ones on my frame, so maybe the bloke I bought it from was wrong about them being non-original.

At least this one's road tested.. He's a big, quick rider.
I unsubscribed from Cam's feed after he did those Melbourne 'Hell' ride videos. I'm sure he's heartbroken laugh.

Some decent bikes Toowoomba way. Don't know if I'm crazy, but I've picked up an old aussie Learsport 8500 frame with carbon seat stays to build up. Looks heavy but.. Haven't got it yet. Lovely paint.

Hmm, looks like someone found a warehouse full of those early 1990's 'high stay' MTB frames that never caught on and added the Merc stickersstevenaaus wrote: ↑Sun Apr 23, 2023 9:47 amUnusual Mercedes Benz tourer going for a song.

M-B have put their name on some ugly and enormously overpriced bikes over the years. Somehow they manage to sell some of the thingsWyvernRH wrote: ↑Sun Apr 23, 2023 12:11 pmHmm, looks like someone found a warehouse full of those early 1990's 'high stay' MTB frames that never caught on and added the Merc stickersstevenaaus wrote: ↑Sun Apr 23, 2023 9:47 amUnusual Mercedes Benz tourer going for a song.

And I've built up for sale a small, colourful Learsport 8500. Lovely stays... Rides decently. But had to replace the rd-4700 with a shadow alivio today, as it wasn't handling the 34t cassette properly.

Pristine penny farthing resplendent with a leather saddle.
Absolutely drool-worthy as I'd never seen one and driven past it before it registered.

Not cranks but levers or treadles. That is an example of a fad in tri-athlete circles for using treadles on a ratchet drive to allow the rider to just push down on the pedals to drive the bike. They had a bit of a following in tri-athlete circles back in the day but really, they were mechanically inefficient. Can't remember the brand name.RetroPilot wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2023 8:26 am
