ACT Policing is calling for witnesses to a series of targeted burglaries at commercial/business premises in the Canberra region over the past week.
Businesses in Fyshwick, Phillip, Belconnen and Campbell have been targeted, including e-scooter retailers and bike shops.
Police believe these incidents are linked and one group may be responsible. One vehicle involved has been recovered and is being forensically examined.
CCTV footage collected by police has shown cars passing stores as the break-ins occurred.
Police would like to speak with anyone who witnessed or were the vicinity of the following locations when incidents occurred:
2.10am, 31 January 2022 - Trek Bikes Phillip
2.40am, 10 February 2022 - Cookie’s Cycles Franklin
2.40am,15 February 2022 - Trek Bikes Phillip
3.30am, 17 February 2022 - Trek Bikes Phillip
2.30am, 18 February 2022 - ION DNA Electric Vehicles Fyshwick
4.30am, 20 February 2022 - Canberra Electric Bikes Phillip
4.00am, 24 February 2022 – Scooter Hut, Belconnen
4.00am 27 February 2022 - Walk Smart Canberra, Campbell
ACT Policing has dedicated resources to this investigation including officers from Criminal Investigations, General Duties policing, AFP Forensics and ACT Policing Intelligence and Digital and Video Operations.
ACT Policing urges the community to report suspicious behavior when they see it – including people at commercial locations out of normal operating hours.
Anyone who can assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.

Pretty simple police operation from here - stake out every bike store in Canberra between 2.00am and 4.00am daily and sometime in the next week you'll catch someone red handed.

lol you watch too many tv cop shows. There are at least 20 bike shops in Canberra spread over a 50km radius. Cops don't attend burgalries now, I doubt they are have the staff (or are actually interested enough) to spare ~40 officers to attend a stake out.
Bike shops just need to file a report to the cops of what was stolen, then quote the incident number to the insurance company and wait for the cheque...and the increased premiums next year.
