I've just eclipsed my 2022 total (~6,000km) so maybe 10,000 for the year is still within reach.
Less than 1k/ month. You can do it!

Considering I lost most of mid-May to mid-June to a nasty and persistent post-viral upper respiratory tract infection cough, and then a couple of weeks in July with soft tissue strain to my lower back possibly instigated by the steroid medication taken for the cough softening those soft tissues, I'm feeling optimistic.

I'm going to stay away from air travel to Melbourne for awhile I think, until I can work out a strategy. Last two times I've done that I've ended up with Covid and then this URTI. Maybe not getting the aisle seat, which is my usual preference (I'm just shy of 6'2"). I've managed to avoid getting seriously sick over the last 3 years apart from those two episodes.
Bugger. :(
P2/N95 mask for the trip?

That probably wouldn't hurt either!

Lagging behind everyone else with 6071km, 46,754m of up.

Happy to be where I am though, considering the start to the year was not promising!
Big few weeks and now 8,009.5 km with 64,376 m of up.

Even dusted off the trainer for my biggest ever indoor ride the other day - 60 km and I hated every single minute of it. Don't know how some people do centuries and greater!

I know folk who do 500km or 1000km on zwift in a single ride. Just mad. They ride in the easiest group on the flattest course - by the end you'd be completely wrecked. I used to be able to do 80-100km, even 75km with the fastest group on a hilly course but that's long gone and out of reach now.

I'm at 12,572km for now.

Added just on 200km to the total and 4510m+ to the total. Did Col du Glandon today with 43°C maximum. The worst suffering I’ve ever had - I can handle heat but that was something else.

There was a huge 80km ride to get to Glandon. The lanterne rouge rider had to pull out because he was also wrecked.

13,241km and 125,943m+.

Hopefully I can increase that elevation a bit more but it’s quite flat around my area. It was so much easier in France to do 30km and 1300m+. ;)

Sorry to hear. Surgery needed? Best of luck for your recovery.

10,196km/145,382m. 191 KOMs.

Happiest to manage 2500km on the gravel bike so far since April. Brings the average speed down but average enjoyment up.

One of my work colleagues has a torn meniscus.
He still runs as that is his chosen activity.
It seems to me that would apply more stress to the knee than cycling.
Hopefully you can be back into it in the nearer future.

That's way better news than an ACL, even if surgery is needed!

Nice work Jason, that would have made you happy :)
Maybe knock the climbing back a bit? I expect that would be harder on the knees than spinning along the flat.

Very happy. Over 4 years and still managed to keep it going

Those months were all with 1%+ elevation

I'll just try commuting this week to see how I feel before adding in any climbing
