Meeting people on Great Victoria rail Trail

Postby Anna R » Sun Nov 19, 2023 4:55 pm

Hi everyone,
Atm I am planning to do the Great Vic rail trail on my own. I was wondering how the conditions are, concerning meeting fellow bikers along the road, especially on the Camp sites or bush camps? Is there a good chance to connect or will I rather be on my own?
Happy dir any Info.
Cheers Anna

Hi Anna

My wife and I have ridden a lot of the trail as day rides on several occasions based at the caravan parks at Yea and Molesworth. We have no knowledge of bush camping opportunities.
You could try contacting Melbourne Bicycle Touring Club who may be found on Facebook about bush camping.
We found that when we were loaded touring if we saw a loaded bike approaching and we stopped the other riders usually did the same and good social interaction was usually experienced.
