And now Freeman’s hearing adjourned and will be a new panel. Maybe later this year or even 2020 based on his QC’s availability .....

With Sky looking for a new owner we can't have a former team doctor having to publicly explain who was going to receive the testosterone he ordered.

Once again, Sky lawyers out-costing any others ....

Sky's new backer

Postby Thoglette » Wed Mar 20, 2019 5:08 pm

Without even a hint of irony, The Guardian ran the following headline today

New backer has the chemistry to keep Dave Brailsford at top of the game
Stop handing them the stick! - Dave Moulton

I saw that, I think there was a lot of irony :D

Quite deliberate IMO.

Another Colombian busted for EPO. This time Pantano (Trek-Segafredo) who would have been Porte's mountains domestique. Why are all these altitude natives needing EPO to perform?

Surprised by Pantano. Mind you, his recent performances aren’t matching his other countrymen, so maybe resorted to extra to meet expectations ?

Slovenia’s Kristijan Koren of Team Bahrain Merida and Croatian Kristijan Durasek of UAE Team Emirates, as well as former riders Alessandro Petacchi and Borut Bozic, have been notified of potential Anti-Doping Rules Violations (ADRV) as part of the ‘Operation Aderlass’ investigation.

Indeed, Koren was sent home from the Giro and Durasek from the Tour of California.

Don't forget Sammy Sanchez received a two-year ban.

Typical statement: Team has strong policies, zero tolerance, disappointed, not our way, lone wolf, yadda yadda. It's team doping media release bingo.

The zero tolerance on display is zero tolerance for being caught, not zero tolerance for doping to meet unrealistic performance expectations placed on their tradable commodities, aka the riders.

What sort of drugs are the UCI on ?

Cobo popped for Bio Passport - 8 years later

I mean really ?

It was suspected that he was dodgy at the time, but now the UCI suspend a rider that last raced in early 2014.

Are they really that useless ? I mean, it seems they are either super slow or can't fight a decent battle as they can be out-lawyered … :?:

It's important that the real winner of the 2011 Vuelta, the clean Chris Froome, is proclaimed.

What then about all of the other winners that were admitted cheaters (Ullrich, Riis et al) or others that are still highly damned suspect (like Horner, Sastre etc).

Where do you draw the line ?

My key question is, why did it take that long ?

Too much funny business.
The UCI need more transparency because their approach is not helping the sport.

And in another 8 years time if they find an issue with Froomey's biological passport they will declare Wiggo the winner. Where does it end? (besides, Froomey's strange blood readings have all been explained by Bilharzia)

I think they should just disqualify Cobo and declare the race had no winner, like they do for the Armstrong years of the TdF. If they didn't do that then Cadel may end up being declared the winner of the 2005 Tour after finishing 8th behind Armstrong, Ullrich, Vinokourov, Liepheimer, Rasmussen etc.

As I've said in years gone by, when calculating the probability of a rider being a doper, simply being a pro with a podium result already puts you at 50%.

If only we had one of these (I made the image up):
