Marysville – Lake Mountain Fire Relief Ride

Press Release: On Saturday 2 May, CycloSportif Victoria will host the Marysville – Lake Mountain Fire Relief Ride through the areas devastated by the tragic events of Black Saturday. The ride will start in Marysville, and pass through Buxton, Taggerty, Thornton, Eildon and Alexandra before finishing at Lake Mountain Resort.

All Australians are aware of the ‘Black Saturday’ tragedy of February 7, 2009. Ten days earlier, the Cyclo Sportif Victoria events team was in Marysville meeting with a number of key community figures from the district and plans were put in place for Marysville and Lake Mountain to host an event on the May 2, 2009. The devastation of the fires temporarily put the event on hold, however after much discussion and with the full support of the community the event will go ahead.

$25 from each entry to be donated to the Australian Red Cross to help the community recover and rebuild.
