Tadej Valjavec Giro Diaries – Stage 8

It was a terrible day. From the start to the finish line, the bunch ran really fast. Everybody wanted to be on the good breakaway and it ran very fast on first climb, so small groups began to form (grupetto) and I succeed in staying with leaders. When the good breakaway started, it continued to run fast because Lampre team wasn’t on breakaway. There wasn’t a moment to take a rest!

The end of the stage was very hard with a difficult last climb just 5km before the finish line and a complicated sector in pavements. I was fine, my sensations were good and I hope it will continue.

All stages are difficult, so I have to hang on. Tomorrow, it will be difficult even if there are no climbs but it’s a tortuous and technical route in Milano. It will be necessary to pay attention on the traps!
