Team Diary: Fuji Servetto on Giro Stage 12

Fuji-Servetto’s Fredrik Kessiakoff wasn’t able to race agains the clock as well as the other GC riders and reamins in 20th posistion. Kessiakoff is waiting for the mountains on Saturday, although tomorrow will be another sprint finish, with 176 kilometers to be covered from Lido di Camaiore to Firenze.

Denis Menchov (Rabobank) has turned into the new leader of the Centenary Giro d’Italia, as he won the 12th stage of the Italian course, the long-awaited, individual time trial of 60.6 kilometers from Sestri Levante to Riomaggiore, in which the rider from Russia overcame Levi Leipheimer (Astana) by nearly a minute in the ranks to take the maglia rosa out of Danilo di Luca (LPR), now 2nd at the GC.
