For the 70th edition of the race, Team Barloworld have selected eight riders that have proved they are on form in recent races and who can do well on the tough course that includes four selective climbs.
The Passo della Bocchetta is expected to decide the race and Team Barloworld hopes that climber’s Francesco Bellotti, Gianpaolo Cheula and Chris Froome can be in the thick of the action. Froome finished third in 2008 and could again climb onto the podium.
The complete team, with Valerio Tebaldi as directeur sportif, is Diego Caccia, Patrick Calcaagni, Marco Corti, Paolo Longo Borghini and Carlo Scognamiglio.
