Selle SMP – success as a sponsor

Selle SMP has moved from being a technical sponsor to also being a Team Sponsor earlier this year. The investment is paying off as the sponsored teams start recording victories.

High the list of success is Chad Gerlach (Pictured with Alessandro Ballan) who has returned to professional racing after six years as a homeless alcoholic and drug addict. The 37 year old American from Sacramento races with Team Amore&Vita McDonald’s and recently won the Saint Joseph Criterium in California.

Gerlach comments: "I came back to cycling only in October, after that Gaggioli and Fanini had contacted me. I didn’t believe, after all the things I’ve done, I was almost dead because of drugs, that I was able to start cycling again. I’ve been saved by the television program Intervention and after the detox program I was alive again. Then the miracle happened and the contract arrived, it was a chance that neither anybody dreamed of giving me, nor I of receiving. It was like being born again for me and that’s why I will never cease being grateful to Fanini family and to Roberto Gaggioli”.
