Lampre-NGC didn’t look like a team on the attack in the 175.5km Andorra to Saint Girons 8th stage of the Tour.

The stage was won by Leon Sanchez who joined a breakaway born in the first climb (Port d’Envalira) and that went on on Col de Port e Col d’Agn?s.

Spilak joined 15 other riders in the early breakaway that began the attack but the Slovenianwasn’t able to match the accelerations of the remaining group.

“Today was not a good day for us because we couldn’t create interesting actions" sport director Fabrizio Bontempi said. "The only attempt was by Spilak, but the battle exploded in the breakaway and so Simon could not go on. We’ll have to be skilful and brave to try to use every chance that will happen in the next stages. For what concerns Bruseghin, on Monday, rest day, one x-ray will be performed on the wrist and another one on the elbow that in the last days is giving him troubles”.

Bruseghin, has suffered in this years tour injuring his wrist and elbow. Ballan crossed the line in 59th position with a gap of 8’10”. Spilak, Loosli and Righi recorded a late of 14’14”, and Furlan reached the arrival 34’01” after the winner.
